The Olympic Committee’s half-hearted Apology

30 July 2024

The organising committee of the Paris Olympics issued an apology to Christians following Friday’s opening ceremony featuring a parody of the biblical scene of the Last Supper in which Leonardo Da Vinci’s painting thereof was evoked through a re-enactment featuring drag queens. Regardless of the second commandment objections that could be raised even against the original painting, it remains undeniable that this contemptible drag show was aimed at blaspheming Christ and for that reason alone should be objected to.

Friday’s blasphemous calamity led to an outpouring of righteous anger, with US telecommunications firm C-spire withdrawing its sponsorship of the event. Olympic organizers responded by claiming that “clearly there was no intention to show disrespect to any religious group. The Opening ceremony tried to celebrate community tolerance ... We believe this ambition was achieved. If people have taken offence we are really sorry.”

The organizing committee must know that the Pactum Institute, our members, and all true sons of the living God do not accept this half-hearted apology, as the ceremony intentionally offended the glory of the one true living God, to whom we owe allegiance above all else.
